Water Sines—The Concert
SEATTLE—November 11, 2011 – Saint Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle’s sonically acclaimed, iconic landmark, will be the setting for Water Sines, an immersive music and dance performance exploring the sacredness of water.
Genette’s original Water Sines compositions were released in 2008 on his debut CD, Water Sines, which showcased a beatless, palette–cleansing symphony of simplicity. “The Water Sines music calls for a large echo–laden environment to maximize its sonic potential.” said Genette. “Saint Mark’s colossal scale and acoustical properties are perfectly suited for the minimal nature of these ‘tone poems.’” At first he had envisioned a simple recording session at the cathedral for his second CD. When Genette decided to include the community, his vision blossomed into a multimedia event celebrating water.

The evening is designed to draw the audience into a closer relationship with the miraculous element that is water and “to stir deep currents of connection through our spiritual/physical being,” according to author Karin de Weille, who will perform a poem created for the event. “By integrating the lessons of water, we change, at a fundamental level, how we move through the world.”
